over 300 people attended the kytherian assocation of Queensland tis panayias feast day for the 24th september .. the celebration was held on sunday the 22nd october and was a huge success with lots of queensland kytherians turning out for the luncheon to honour our panayia myrtidiotissa...the day featured a huge buffet luncheon, the young kytherian spaletta dancers ,music , jumping castles , soccer clinics .. great to see young families and chidren atteding.. the day was a huge success with kytherians atteding to honour one of the islands main saint days .. well done to all !

lovely little church just passed myrtithia , called agios nikolas perched on the side of the mountain with magnifucent ocean views , the church is unlocked and you may enter to light a candel , all churches in greece facing the ocean are called agios nikolas who protects all at sea ..so next time you are at myrtithia take the road past the monastery and visit this lovely church ....

threating wild storm in early august as the large clouds roll across the village of trifyllianika at a church service at agios jannis just before the 15th august , but its bark was worse than the bite.. as no rain fell that evening.. but it looked wild !

wonderful litte church on the west side of the island just behind myrtithia which you can drive there and the church is opened, agios nickolas commands magnificent ocean views and protects all at sea...

the bishop strides down towards a church service on the 24th august which is 9 days after the falling asleep of the mary .. this is a wonderful service held each year at palochora the bith place of modern kythera .. the church is called the lady of the tax [ e kerea tou fouro ] if you are on the island come to these wonderful church services held in churches that are many hundreds of years old , after all palochora is the where a lot of our ancestors lived some 600 years ago.. give palochora the respect it deserves and attend this service on the mornimng of the 24th of august ...

Queensland ...to celbrate the patron saint of the island on the 12th may .. the morning service was followed by a morning tea for the attendees .. with plenty of chat about the up coming summer months in kythera ...
