the vast audience in attendance at the Kytherian Association of Australia dinner dance held on November 9th, 2012 at the Westside Lounge, Marrickville.

It was held in honour of the Metropoliti of Kythera, Father Petros, from Ayios Theothoros, and the Mayor of Kythera, Theothori Koukoulis.

A massive 500 members and guests attended the event.

Dance groups of all ages entertained the audience.

The Westside lounge is owned by the Hatziplis family.

The vast audience in attendance at the Kytherian Association of Australia dinner dance thoroughly enjoyed their performances.

The dinner dance was held on November 9th, 2012 at the Westside Lounge, Marrickville.

It was held in honour of the Metropoliti of Kythera, Father Petros, from Ayios Theothoros, and the Mayor of Kythera, Theothori Koukoulis.

Stamatoula Chlentzos celebrates her 106th birthday

Stamatoula Mavromatis Chlentzos celebrated her 106th birthday with family and friends in Pleasonton, CA - Nov. 1, 2012

Stamatoula was born in Christoforianika on November 1, 1906.

Stamatoula Mavromatis Chlentzos Celebrates her 106th Birthday

Stamatoula Mavromatis Chlentzos celebrated her 106th birthday with friends and family in Pleasanton, CA.- November 1 , 2012
Stamatoula was born in Christoforianika, Kythera on November 1, 1906 to parents Antonis Mavromatis (1879-1968) and Giannoula Koulentianos Mavromatis (1878-1969)
In 1931 Stamatoula married Angelo Panagiotis Chlentzos ((1899-1982). A few months later they immigrated to the California, USA where she has lived ever since.

Pleasanton resident Stamatina (Tula) Chlentzos recently celebrated her 106th birthday with her family, including her great-grandson James Argiros, a 2012 graduate of Amador Valley High School.

Tula was born in Kythera, Greece, on Nov. 1, 1906, and came to America when she was 25. She married Angelo Chlentzos in 1931. She has two daughters, Teddi Zes from San Jose and Jeanne Argiros from Acampo, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She is a member of the Greek Orthodox Church in Castro Valley.

Sculptor Masaaki Noda knows him well.

''lest we forget''

a touching part of the service today at agia paraskevi was the remembrace for all the fallen soilders in all wars . this very moving ceremony moved a lot of people, we sang the greek anthem , then the aussie anthem , then we sang the greek anthem again!! saw a few people with tears in their eyes and i was one of them !!! well done to all who planned the bishop and mayor visit to australia , it was a great idea, im sure all concerned gained a lot to bring our two great islands even closer together .. thank you xx
