NIKOLAOS KASAPIS was a medical doctor who was educated in Germany and married to FRANGISKI there. When he arrived in Kythera, there was no hospital nor anything resembling a hospital. He convinced the council to allow him to use the bulding where the National Bank of Greece is today in Hora and convert it into a very poor hospital, but still it was a hospital with a brilliant doctor in charge. He performed many operations free of charge and was called "The saviour of Kythera". He also assisted students at the High School in theatrical performanses. A brilliant couple, that offered Kythera so much and became very proud Kytherians.
The PANTAZIDOY family, came to Kythera when their daughter Renata was married my nephew Valerios in Kythera.
The name Andronikos is fairly common in Kythera -mainly on Southern part of the Island- therefore to identify people, they had nicknames-. Not many people knew him as ANDRONIKOS. To find him, one would have to ask for "GEORGIOY" A very gentle man.
PARENTS FROM SPARTA An unusual inscription on his grave is: " Love your Country even if you are bitter with it.Strong men, are capable of suffering and put up with the beatings and insults offered by their Country" S.M.K.
